Equipment
The ACHHA's collection includes an extensive array of equipment which is progressively being incorporated into the new Country Hospital Museum at the Rockhampton Heritage Village. The concept behind this Museum is to simulate a full working early 20th century hospital with separate rooms representing the different components of a typical small country hospital. The medical and nursing collection is complemented by an extensive collection of pharmacy memorabilia. Among the major items, the Association is fortunate to have a 1938 Nuffield Foundation 'iron lung' which was in service for many years at the Rockhampton Hospital, operating theatre equipment, incubators, trolleys and so on, as well as dental and pharmacy equipment. These are photographs of a few items in the Association's Collection in the new Museum building which was officially opened on 21 November 2009.
