Description | Photograph of Sister Ivy Baker at the Rockhampton Base Hospital. Sister Baker commenced training at the Rockhampton Hospital on 27 September 1926. After becoming registered, she completed her midwifery qualification at the Lady Goodwin hospital which opened in 1930. In all, she served the hospital for 42 years, retiring in 1968. This photograph was taken on the veranda of the 1954-built Nurses' Quarters with the main building at the Rockhampton Grammar School visible in the background. |
