Description | Sister Alice Ethel Imison trained at the Rockhampton Hospital from January 1914 until January 1917. She enlisted in the Australian Army Nursing Service in August 1917 as a Staff Nurse and sailed from Sydney on the 'Anchises' on 8th August 1918. She served in the Kangaroo Point Hospital in Brisbane and Bombay, India, and Lahore, Pakistan. She returned to Australia in October 1919 on the 'Marathon' and was discharged medically unfit in February 1920. This photograph shows Alice wearing the AANS dress uniform in 1917. |
