Description The photograph shows Sister Ivy Baker in approximately 1930. Sister Baker commenced training at the Rockhampton Hospital on 27 September 1926. After her basic training she studied midwifery at the Lady Goodwin Hospital which opened in August 1930. Ivy then embarked on a lifetime of service to the sick and injured at the Rockhampton Hospital. In all she served there for 42 years, retiring in 1968. The back of the photograph has the inscription IHMB (for Ivy H. M. Baker). There is also an imprint for Irving Studios.
