| Description | his block was under construction as quarters for nurses at the Rockhampton Hospital between 1950 and 1954. This photograph was taken in 1952. The five storey building was designed to provide accomodation for 172 nurses and cost £261,000 to construct. The building was demolished in the second half of 2008 as part of the redevelopment of the Rockhampton Hospital. Nurses had been living in temporary quarters since the previous quarters burned down in 1945. |
