Description | The photograph shows Sister Alma Crudgington who was born on 18 May 1912 and trained from 05 Jan 1932 until 1936 at the Rockhampton Hospital. She then completed her midwifery certificate between 19 Mar 1936 and 18 Sep 1936 at the Lady Goodwin Hospital. Sister Crudgington enlisted in the Australia Army Nursing Service on 14 October 1940 and was discharged on 10 August 1943 with the rank of Captain. She was assigned to the 2/9 Australian General Hospital which served in the Middle East, Palestine, Egypt, Australia and New Guinea. (Source: Goodman, Rupert.
