Description This group of nurses has been photographed in front of the Mater Misericordiae Hospital in Rockhampton in 1956. The nurses are wearing Butterfly Veils which indicate that they have successfully completed their examinations and are in the process of gaining further practical experience before graduating as Sisters and becoming eligible for registration with the Queensland Nurses Registration Board. Those present are: Back row (L to R) Shirley Bloxsom, Mary Pelin, Margaret Smith; Front row: Patricia Close, Joan Callaghan.
