Title Voss Family and Staff at Hillcrest Hospital 1922
Description The photograph shows Dr Frances Henry Vivian Voss, members of his family, and hospital staff in front of Hillcrest Hospital in 1922. Dr Voss opened Hillcrest at 124 Talford Street Rockhampton in 1900 and operated it until his retirement due to ill health in 1929. His wife, Lottie, pre-deceased him in 1926. Of their two sons and three daughters, all except one daughter became medical practitioners. The identified individuals in the photograph are: Centre of back row - Sister Palfrey (later Matron); In the front row are Dr Paul Voss, Dr F. H. V. Voss with 'Wedgie', Mrs Voss and the unidentified Matron. The man on the right is not identified. However, Dr and Mrs Voss had a second son, Kerrod, born 1894, who was studying medicine in Sydney in 1922. While the Matron is not identified, at the time that the photograph was taken it is likely to have been Miss G. S. MacDonald.
