Title | Sisters Fuller and Traves at Rockhampton Hospital October 1971 |
Description | The photograph shows Sisters M. Fuller and Judy Traves at Rockhampton Hospital in October 1971. The photograph illustrates the uniforms worn at that time. In the late 1960s, the traditional starched organdie veils were replaced by folded paper veils. Hospital policy determined the style of veil worn. At the Rockhampton Hospital a Sister who had completed general nurse training wore a Baxter style veil as seen here in Sister Fuller. After completing a second certificate in midwifery, the Sisters wore a Cavell style veil as seen here on Sister Traves. |
