Description Ada Catherine (Kit) Walters (née Deane) (09 Oct 1903 - 18 May 1985) trained at the Rockhampton Hospital between 08 Jun 1925 and Jun 1929. She remained there as a Staff Nurse and Sister before completing obstetric training at the Queen Alexandra Hospital Hobart, graduating in February 1931. She served as Matron at the Isisford Hospital before undertaking child welfare training at Karitane, Sydney, which she completed in 1936. From 1937 - 1940 she was a Sister at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Sydney. After a short period on the staff of the Lady Goodwin Hospital in Rockhampton she served as an Officer in the Australian Army Nursing Service from 1942 to 1946, holding the rank of Captain at the end of the war. From 1947 until her retirement in 1970 she was on the senior staff of the Rockhampton Hospital and was in charge of the Chest Clinic at the Hospital from its opening in 1959.
