Description Edna May Weber was born on 22 July 1905 in Queensland. She completed her nurse training at the Rockhampton Hospital between 28 Dec 1925 and 20 Dec 1929. After a brief interval, she completed her midwifery certificate at the Rockhampton Women's Hospital and the Lady Goodwin Hospital between 19 Apr 1930 and 18 Oct 1930. Edna Weber undertook private nursing before becoming Matron of the Muttaburra Hospital and then a member of the RAAF Nursing Service from 1941 - 1947. She served at many Australian bases before and after overseas service in the New Guinea war zone. She left the service in 1947 with the rank equivalent to Flight Lieutenant although senior nurses retained the title Sister.
