Description The photograph shows Nurse Elsie Crudgington (born 1897) in her uniform worn while on duty at the Rockhampton Hospital in 1918. Nurse Crudgington trained at the Rockhampton Hospital from January 1918 to February 1921. The photograph was donated to the Rockhampton Base Hospital Museum by her brother Albert Crudgington in 1979. This original nurse's uniform including dress, apron, belt, collar, cuffs and cap became the first item in the uniform collection which is now managed by the Australian Country Hospital Heritage Association Inc. The cap was pinned ready to wear. Elsie is also known to have worked as a nurse at the Emerald and Tannachy Hospitals.
