Description | Martha May Homewood was one of seven sisters who were all trained nurses. She trained at the Mount Morgan Hospital and joined the Australian Army Nursing Service on 11 Nov 1916. She embarked for England on the Thermistocles. arriving in March 1917. She saw service in France where she worked in both British and Australian Army Hospitals. Martha returned to Australia on 04 Jul 1919 on the SS Norman and completed her service on 29 Sep 1919. |
