Title | Nurses in butterfly veils Rockhampton Hospital ca. 1957 |
Description | The photograph shows two Rockhampton Hospital nurses, Nancy Crapp (Left) and Kath Moriarty in uniform at the Rockhampton Hospital ca. 1957. The veils being worn were known as Butterfly Veils. They were worn by nurses who had completed their examinations but were continuing to gain practical experience prior to their graduation and registration with the Queensland Nurses Registration Board. The starched organdie butterfly veil was half the size of the 36 inch square veil worn by Sisters. |
