Title | Rockhampton Hospital Medical Superintendent Mr Tom Sale with nurses at graduation 1971 |
Description | Mr Tom Sale, Medical Superintendent of the Rockhampton Hospital, with nurses at their graduation in 1971. Note that as a Specialist Surgeon, his customary title at the time was Mr Sale rather than Dr Sale. In the late 1960s the traditional starched organdie veils worn by nursing sisters were replaced by folded paper veils as seen here. This particular design was known as the Baxter veil. |
