| Description | The photograph shows Nurse Ruthenburg, Matron Edna May Weber, Sister Collins and Dr J. A. Arratta at the Muttaburra Hospital ca. 1936. Dr Joseph Andrew Arratta had arrived in Muttaburra in 1925 and served his community for 35 years before retiring in 1960. In the 1959 New Years Honours list he was awarded an MBE in recognition of his service to medicine. Edna Weber was Matron at the hospital from early 1936 until mid-1940 at which time she resigned in order to enlist to serve in World War 2. |
